This photo is a "handout" from the Ukrainian government and appears to be legitimate. But propaganda coming from both sides in the conflict has proven less than reliable. Numbers of civilian casualties, planes shot down, soldiers killed, etc. are not only suspect in the "fog of war" but also highly manipulated to make gains in the battle of public opinion.

3/4/22 Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, on the banks of Dnieper river in the city of Enerhodarin came under attack from Russian forces early Friday morning and has since been seized and is in the hands of Russian occupiers. A tense world watched after the attack started a fire in an adjacent training facility triggering fears of a nuclear disaster. However, Ukraine's nuclear authority issued a statement later on Friday that the fire had been successfully extinguished and all nuclear reactors were secure.

In the last few days Russian forces have made incursions into eastern provinces of Ukraine which abut the Russian border. Today's action presents an entirely new side to the conflict, radically changing it from what Putin called a peace-keeping mission to a declaration of war on the country as a whole including strikes on the capital city of Kyiv.
